34 Weeks with Maggie!
And just like that, we have 6ish weeks left before we welcome Miss Maggie home! Here's the Maggie bump at 34 weeks.

Growth: Maggie is still growing and I can tell because my belly is FULL of baby! She is around 17-19 inches and around 4-6 lbs. She should have all of her fingernails now and they reach the tip of her fingers.

My Symptoms: I have almost kicked the cough. It's been the most annoying part of the cold I started about 2 weeks ago. I will be so happy to not cough, and I know Ryan will as well. Other than that, I have been able to breathe a bit better the last two days and that makes me HAPPY!

Gender: Sweet girl!

Maternity Clothes: Yep! The weather on Sunday and the past few days has been a taste of spring. I was able to go into my stash of maternity clothes from when I had Vann and use one of my favorite shirts. That was very exciting and hopefully the weather is just as good so I can use one of my dresses on Sunday for church and my cousin's baby shower.

Movement: She's a little rockstar. Today she hasn't stopped moving. I am thinking I can tell how she's positioned and boy I hope I am right. My sis will be home on Friday and can feel my belly to make sure. I think she's head down, but her feet are now in my right rib instead of my left!

Sleep: This week it's been going well. I had been avoiding my boppy body pillow because I was already getting really warm at night with the heat on, but with the weather the past few nights we've been able to turn the fan on. I took out the pillow last week and have slept pretty well!

Cravings/Aversions: I am ready for fresh fruit to come into season. I am loving salads for lunch and my vanilla shake each morning. At dinner my eyes get bigger than my stomach is, and each night when Ryan and I sit down to relax I have a spoonful of peanut butter with some chocolate chips on top.

Appointment: I have my 34 week appt this week, so hopefully it will go well!

Accomplishments: Maggie's closet is a bit closer to being ready for her. I have gotten her room a tad more organized. I bought some laundry detergent to wash her clothes, now I just need to wash them. I washed her carseat liner (Vann's carseat originally). I also prepped and placed 40 lbs of chicken into freezer bags Monday. So, I have lots of chicken ready for crockpot meals when Maggie arrives.

Best Pregnancy Moment of the Week: We took our big boy to the circus this weekend and he did really well. It was a great time to spend as a family and Maggie was bee-bopping around to all of the circus music.

Thoughts: Maggie, To see pink floral clothing that is replacing your brother's blue clothes is making your birth even more real. We are on a daily countdown: 43, 42, 41...we can't wait to meet you and I am especially excited for your daddy and brother to hold you.

Fun Facts:
  • weight gain: 27ish lbs and going strong! It fluctuates a couple pounds but has been pretty consistent.
  • stretch marks: None on the belly!
  • mood: feeling very excited and nervous about what's to come!!
  • belly button: It's still flat but when I cough it pops out!
  • wedding rings: yep!

Goals for next week:
*Pack hospital bag (mine, Ryan's, and Vann's overnight bag)

33 Weeks
It's been too long since I have done a bump update. Here's my belly at 30 weeks when we were visiting my sis in NY.

Here's the Maggie bump at 33 weeks.

Growth: My Baby Bump App is Comparing Maggie to a Durian fruit which I can't say I have ever seen in my life. She's around 17-19 inches and around 4 and a 1/2 lbs. While she's awake she's keeping her eyes open, coordinating her breathings with sucking and swallowing, her bones are hardening, and of course she's going through major brain development.

My Symptoms: Hello Third Trimester exhaustion. It's partly pregnancy, but a big part allergies that have wiped me out. Last Monday night I started this little cough and by Thursday I was in bed. Vann was a trooper letting me relax, if only I was easier on myself. Mommy guilt kept creeping in and I felt like I needed to be more active which was making me worse. My daddy came over on Thursday after work and Friday afternoon to entertain Vann and let me rest. Ryan was awesome to come home each night from already working hard, made dinner for us, and did all of Vann's nightly routine. Saturday I stayed in bed all day and finally was feeling better on Sunday. So, I am hoping to fully kick the nasty cough and get rid of this crud this week!

Gender: Sweet girl!

Maternity Clothes: Oh yes, and some awesome sweatpants I bought in a medium on sale at the Gap. Ryan calls me Missy Elliott and even started singing all of her songs one night. Thank God for his humor that keeps me laughing.

Movement: Most definitely! I am not sure if she's ever still. Dr. Ward reminded me at this point babies are pretty much going to act like they do in the womb when they arrive in our arms. Oh boy, we may be in for another active baby! I am obsessed with feeling her kick, but my boys don't get as excited. This is probably because as soon as I tell them to check out the kicks she stops! I sat down at our small group meeting and my belly looked like it was bouncing all around.

Sleep: With the sinus stuff, sleep was really non-existent. I took a Tylenol PM last night and the night before and got the best sleep in a long time. The serving says 2, but I tried 1 and it did the trick. Thanks to my dr for reminding me it's ok to take that to get rest and fight the crud.

Cravings/Aversions: I am not a huge fan of recipes that have onions in them, so even if they call for it I don't add it in. I can say that I am in love with Vanilla shakes and a scoop of peanut butter every morning. And I am getting to the point that I can't eat a lot or I am beyond full, uncomfortable, and can't breathe!

Appointment: I had my 32 week appt last week and all was well. She's measuring great, heart rate was 135 and strong, and all of my stats checked out good.

Accomplishments: Hmmm. I haven't accomplished as much as I would like, but Ryan's mama ordered our glider for the nursery, I got an awesome deal on a Mamaroo ($90) and it's in great condition, Erin has gotten several cute things for Maggie including a pillow for her glider in the same pattern as her sheets. There is still lots to do, but it will get done. If not, Ryan reminds me that we have essentials: milk, clothes, diapers (well, not yet but we could if necessary), and a place to let Maggie sleep.

Best Pregnancy Moment of the Week: I'd say I love seeing how excited Vann is to meet his sister. He has big plans to get her a baby doll and has requested that she get him a dump truck he can show her how to play with.

Work Outs: Besides my daily mom workout: lifting a 30 lb 2 year old, cleaning the house on the regular, and moving things around getting ready for a new baby... I am adding in more squats and leg workouts.

Thoughts: We are so excited to meet you Miss Maggie Katherine! I am so ready to see your big brother's face when he meets you for the first time. I am pretty sure you already have Daddy wrapped around your finger, go easy on him.

Fun Facts:
  • weight gain: 27ish lbs and going strong! I am glad to see this is what I had packed on with Vann as well.
  • stretch marks: None yet!
  • mood: happy and smiley! It's hard not to smile when people around you are being so sweet and complimenting a lot.
  • belly button: It is completely flat today but any day now I expect for it to pop out!
  • wedding rings: yep!

Goals for next week:
*Pack hospital bag (mine, Ryan's, and Vann's overnight bag)
*Clean baby car seat
*Put nursery together
*Make freezer meals with 40 lbs of chicken I am picking up next week

27 Weeks
How far along? 27 weeks

Baby: Sweet Maggie is as big as a rutabaga (around 14 inches and 1.5 - 2.5 lbs). She is continuing to grow and her brain is developing even more now. She most likely can recognize her mommy and daddy's voice, and surely she knows her brother's voice as well!

Total weight gain: I haven't weighed, but I will head to the dr next week for the glucose test and see how much I have gained then.

Maternity clothes? Yes and Ryan's t-shirts!

Stretch marks? Not right now. The way my belly is growing this time, it may happen soon. I am keeping a lot of moisturizer on it which seems to help during this cold weather.

Sleep: This week I slept better than last. I may have just been tired from all of our Christmas and New Year fun.

Movement: Maggie is continuing to kick and I can feel her roll around. At night she moves closer up to the edge of my belly and I can feel her move even better.

Food cravings: I have really gotten back on track with my healthy eating and it's feels so good! I am having to fight some cravings, but it has given me more energy and helps me keep up with Vann even more.

Symptoms: I'd say the biggest one this week has been my legs. They are cramping, but I believe it was my sciatic nerve giving me some issues. I did some stretches and drank a ton of water + Rehydrate and it helped tremendously. I have also been wearing tennis shoes while I do house work and that has helped.

Maggie, We only have around 13 weeks until we meet you and we are so honored already to be your parents and big brother. We love you so much and thank God for your precious life.

26 Weeks {The one where I share her name!}

How far along? 26 weeks

Baby: Today our little girl is around the size of an eggplant (about a foot long and around 2 lbs). This week her eyes begin to open. Her eyelashes are now grown too. She's taking breaths...not gonna lie that freaks me out when I think about it since she's in fluid! It is hard to wrap my brain around how God creates us! Our sweet girl is a miracle!

Total weight gain: Holding around 14 lbs...feels like 50!

Maternity clothes? I am loving maternity clothes now since my regular wardrobe doesn't work too well. My poor yoga pants are stretched to the max in the waist. I sure did like being able to wear sandals and dresses when I was pregnant with Vann in the warmer weather.

Stretch marks? The belly is stretchmark free thus far!

Sleep: I can fall asleep anywhere, but staying asleep is another story. I don't think I have slept like I used to in a couple of years now, so it's nothing new! Life goes on and I have my Spark to keep me going! :)

Best moment this week: We loved having Ryan home a bit more over New Year's Eve and New Year's Day! Family time is my favorite! Visiting with family and eating some good home cooked food are great for the soul. We had a fun Saturday with friends watching UGA dominate in the Taxslayer Bowl and then on to Athens to celebrate the New Year with our AdvoCare team. Now, it's back to the routine and getting lots accomplished before we welcome our new family member! On Monday night I was putting Vann to bed. We prayed, read books, rocked, and sang songs. He has gotten into the habit of uncovering my belly, uncovering his belly, pressing them together, and telling me his sister is talking to his belly like he talks to mine! This night was different though because as he laid there he started humming with me. When I stood up to lay him in his bed, he pushed his cheek to mine and continued humming. We just danced and hummed...and my heart melted even more. He's a sweet big brother!

Movement: She's kicking up a storm. I can see my belly shake when she is wiggling.

Food cravings: Salads this week. I could eat them all of the time. In fact, I did last night at 9:30...what in the world?!?

Symptoms: Clumsiness...I'm always clumsy but it's elevated for sure right now! 4 weeks ago I turned to sharp out of the driveway and the mailbox scraped down the side of my car. GOOD GRIEF! I should be in a bubble.

What's her name? We have been asked this a lot, but I wanted to blog about it before I made a big announcement. I have had her name picked out for awhile (back before I was expecting Vann). Ryan and I agreed on it after making sure there was no other name we both liked as much. Our little girl is Margaret Katherine and will be called Maggie! She is so loved and Vann loves sharing what his little sister's name is. Here he is after we found out he was having a sister!

Maggie, you are so precious to each of us already! We love you and pray for a healthy, strong baby who knows she is wonderfully and fearfully made! Thank you God for our precious girl!

How far along? 23 weeks

Baby: Our little lady is growing by the second! Now, she's the size of a grapefruit weighing in at a whopping 12.7 oz - 20.8 oz. She was 11 oz 4 weeks ago, so I am pretty sure she's in the middle of that range. She could also be anywhere from 10.5 - 11.8 inches...crazy she's almost a foot long in my belly!

Total weight gain:  14 lbs

Maternity clothes? After wearing my regular jeans (unbuttoned and zipped halfway) with my BellaBand I finally had ENOUGH! I have a few pairs of jeans from my sweet friend Mal, but I needed some dressier ones that fit in my boots. I found some at Old Navy and also grabbed a pair of their black pixie pants to dress up my outfits I would typically wear leggings with. My maternity leggings are a bit thin to make it through the winter and last 4 months. My new maternity purchases were delivered yesterday and they fit great! That makes this prego mama happy and I am sure if my regular jeans could talk they'd thank me for not stretching them more and more!
Stretch marks? None on my belly!

Sleep: Rolling from side to side is getting to be a chore! I am about to pull my big boppee pillow out again to give the belly some support!

Best moment this week: This has been such a fun week full of Christmas fun! Friday Ryan and I had a much needed date night to a great spot in Athens called Hilltop Grille and did a little Christmas shopping afterwards. Saturday was our sweet niece Ava's birthday party. She is precious! The worship service on Sunday was incredible and so needed! We enjoyed our small group on Monday evening and got together with their families. The kids had a blast at a house that was decked out for Christmas with lights, a tiny village, and more! Tuesday afternoon we spent time celebrating Christmas with our sweet neighbors visiting with Santa Cow and seeing some seriously great Christmas lights. And Wednesday was our handsome boy's Christmas play that he was super cute in and we enjoyed lunch and treats afterwards. It's been busy, but OH SO GOOD!

Movement: We have a WiLd woman on our hands! She has really strong movements and I can feel her kicking a lot on my right side! Ryan and Vann have gotten to experience it as well!

Food cravings: I am still digging the Olive Garden dressing! Eggs are a craving in the morning! I love our Gingerbread bars (so do Ryan and Vann)! AND it's Christmas...oh my stars! The treats are awesome, but trying not to go overboard.

Symptoms: I am reminded that my sense of smell is still highly elevated in certain situations...sometimes it's a bit too much!

In other very exciting news our precious girl has a name! She's had it for awhile because it's what we had picked out 3 years ago if Vann had been a girl! We will be sharing soon!
